Bay Village, Ohio, March 30, 2006 - On Thursday, April 6, Christina Vangelos, a senior at Bay High School, will hold a bake sale to benefit Kids in Flight, a non-profit organization that works with seriously ill children in the northeast Ohio area.
Christina learned of the organization in March 2006 while conducting research for her senior project. Demonstrating her incredible desire to give to others, she has volunteered to coordinate the bake sale and donate all proceeds to Kids in Flight.
With her mother baking cookies, chocolate covered pretzels and other tasty treats, Christina has rallied her friends at school to help her run the table. The Bay High School student is involved in treble choir and is a lifeguard at Bay pool where she also teaches swimming lessons.
The bake sale will be held on Thursday, April 6 beginning at 7:30am at Bay High School.
Kids in Flight is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. It was founded by Maria Weybrecht who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 19 in 2002, just months after obtaining her private pilot license. The mission of the organization is to use aviation as a tool to empower seriously ill children and their families through flight experiences and educational programs.
